Desired Character:Donnie Brasco
Movie(s) in which your character appears:Donnie Brasco
Description of character: Joe Pistone is an FBI agent working undercover under the alias of Donnie Brasco to infiltrate the mob. Joe Pistone is a family man, a loving father and husband trying to do the best to provide for them despite circumstances that keep him away. He has always tried to live life following the law and being the "good guy".
As Donnie he is an expert in jewels, able to easily spot fakes which helped him gain his association to the mafia. The more he acts like Donnie, the more he becomes his Donnie personality. His speech loses the eloquence he once had as a respected FBI agent. He curses, and becomes rough with his wife. The pressures of his job get to him as he realizes that the slightest mistake that he makes, can actually end up getting people killed. He has to make a choice between keeping someone alive he has grown close to over his 6 years under cover, and doing the job that he was sent in to do; wondering if he is really Joe Pistone anymore, or if he has become Donnie Brasco.
RP Sample: With his report typed up, he could get ready to be Donnie Brasco again. Joe Pistone would have to be forgotten, or at least pushed aside. Lefty was expecting to meet him for coffee at 10am. Donnie knew he had to shave his mustache before the meeting this time. As he took the razor to his face he gave a small grin and shook his head laughing to himself at the thought that both the FBI and his mafia connection both wanted him clean shaven. Neither group would probably ever want to acknowledge similarities between the two.
After he had finished getting ready, he left his apartment and got into his car, his mind already going over the possibilities for today. Would today be the day that Lefty introduced him to some of the more major players? Had Donnie made a mistake by getting close to him instead of someone else? It was too late to try to doubt that now, his connection was made. He was already "connected guy", a friend of Lefty's. What bothered him was that Donnie actually had started to like Lefty, a part of him (even if it was only the part of him that actually was Donnie) thought of Lefty as a friend, maybe even family. Hell, he hadn't even seen his real family for months now (since he had last gotten away to stop in and visit). He missed his wife, his daughters. He loved them. But he had to try to push them out of his mind before he got to the coffee shop. Joe was a family man, but Donnie was an orphan. He couldn't be thinking about a family now. He was an orphan today. Maybe when the evening came he could call home and have a family again, but not right now.
When Donnie reached the coffee shop, he parked his car by the curb across the street. Before getting out of his car he reached down to make sure his pants were covering up the cowboy boots he wore holding his wire. If it wasn’t concealed, he’d be a dead man.
‘A guy could get whacked for a lot less than that.’ Donnie thought to himself as he got out of the car.
Looking around him he crossed the street. He had the feeling he was being followed today. It was just a matter of whether it was the FBI or someone else doing the following. He put his hands into the pockets of his leather jacket pulling it closed a little further. With one last look over his shoulder he entered the café. Since his eyes had temporarily been looking behind him and not where he was going, he ran into a customer trying to leave the store. Joe would have apologized. But if Lefty was already here and watching it would be another lesson of how a wise guy doesn’t apologize, just like he never pays for a drink.
“Watch where you’re fucking going!” Donnie spat out the words, giving the guy a little shove before ignoring him to look for Lefty.
(OOC: hopefully thats what you're looking for?)
