Desired Character: Jack Skellington
Movie(s) in which your character appears: The Nightmare Before Christmas
Description of character:
Personality: With a distorted view on most situations and a rich air of refinement, Jack Skellington is a curious creature indeed. He basks in the thrill of exploring new places and welcomes the idea of trying something new with open arms. Bored with life’s repetitiveness, Jack is constantly looking for a way break free of his monotonous shackles often shutting out others as he does so.
A little self-absorbed at times and utterly oblivious to the feelings of both Sally and sometimes the other residents of HalloweenTown, Jack is charismatic and easily excited. His enthusiasm causes people to flock to him and he adores the chance to get involved with new projects, always ready and willing to throw in his own 2 cents. There is a depressive side to his personality though, which comes to play mostly when he’s feeling defeated or trapped but it doesn’t take him long to snap back to life again once he looks outside of a bad situation.
All in all Jack is a kind-hearted person who is driven by his curiosity, eagerness and willful character. A lover of grand events, ideas and even theatrics, Jack is a creative genius whose mind is constantly churning out new things.
Appearance: Tall and somewhat spindly, Jack towers above the rest of HalloweenTown's residents. Partial to pinstripes and flamboyant bow ties, Jack is very suave and dapper even with his lack of skin. So white that he almost glows in moonlight and with limbs long enough to reach the highest shelf. Jack is a skeleton who shimmers with both authority and gentility.
RP Sample:
A Jack-O-Lantern sun glared in at him through the angular window, casting a soft orange glow over the sharp furniture that lined the circular room, bathing it in early morning light as a skeletal rooster cock-a-doodled from a rooftop somewhere near by. One long, spindly, cotton clad arm hung out of an arched cast iron bed which backed up onto a fire place, the bony fingers resting comfortably on the higgledy-piggledy floorboards.
Somewhere underneath a thin cotton blanket, he moved, groaning slightly as he began to awaken from the land of sleep. The form moved once more and the spindly arm was withdrawn up into the well-worn depths. He twisted and sat up a little stiffly, almost like a vampire rising from its coffin.
Letting out a long yawn and stretching his skeletal arms high up towards the ceiling, Jack twitched a little at the cracking noises, as his bones settled into their correct positions. The down side to being a skeleton, it was far to easy to dislocate yourself. Of course it never hurt it was just incredibly annoying.
Satisfied and sure that his bones now sat in their correct alignment, the skeleton man turned his hollow eyes to the far side of the room where a ghostly dog sat sleeping in a basket, cuddled up to a now rather tatty doll. “Gooooooood morning Zero! Did you sleep well?” The little dog opened a blurry eye and barked once, waggling the bottom half of his sheet-like body. Had he been covered with fur, no doubt it would have been his tail.
“Excellent!” Cheerily, the skeleton swung his thin leg bones out of the bed and he got to his feet, pulling off a nightcap as he did so. Making his way across the room, avoiding the spiral staircase in the middle, he pushed the windows open with zest and stuck out his pearly skull. The house rose up like a tower at a strange angle and as he looked down, he caught sight of some passers by.
A grin on his face, the skeleton called down to his citizens and waved. “Hello down there! Good morning to you!” The creatures looked up at their king and greeted him in an almost identical cheery manner. “Good Morning Jack!” “Hello Jack!” “How did you sleep Jack?” The skeleton grinned once more “Wonderfully thank you, I feel very refreshed!” With that he pulled his skull back into the circular tower room and spoke once more to the little dog, now fully awake and ready to tackle another day “Well Zero, shall we have breakfast?”
