Username: mickjoecool76 Desired Character: Dean Corso Movie(s) in which your character appears: The Ninth Gate (1999) Description of character: Medium height, 40's, slick hair, thin build, goatee/moustache, eyeglasses, chain-smoker RP Sample: The meeting with Balkan left me a tad uneasy - a man who threw his wealth around for trivial pursuits like witchcraft and mumbo-jumbo. And now he seemed fit to throw his wealth in another direction: my bankbook, for a rather odd trip to Europe. Although we had had dealings in the past, there something about his request that troubled. No one should go through all that trouble for one possibly-fabricated volume on demonology. That wasn't all - I kept seeing that girl from the lobby. She seems to be everywhere...an agent of Balkan's, perhaps? Set to spy on me? Another mistrustful customer... Well, what else is new? RP Experience: None, but my occupation is an actor, so I should think this kind of thing would be perfect for me. Custom Title: Why the Devil? Quote: "I'm the only apparition you'll see tonight." Why you should get this character: Although I'm certain you're tried of hearing, I am a pretty big fan of Johnny and Tim for that matter, but this has to be one of my favorite (if not number 1) performances of Johnny. As the odious Dean Corso, an unscrupulous book-dealer, he becomes the embodiment of a modern-day Raymond Chandler character: cynical, morally unsound, but with a sharp wit and occasional helplessness for comical effect. Towards the end of the film, he exhibits many symptoms of obsession as the demonic mystery unfolds. But most of all, I think that of all Johnny's characters, this one has the most similarities with myself, as I dress similar, have a cynical point of view and something of an opportunistic personality. In looking through the site, I see that no one else has laid claim to him, so I would like to contribute this wonderful character.
