Why do you call it "B2x?"
The website is actually called Be Burtonesque. Be starts with the letter B and Burtonesque starts with the letter B. Be Burtonesque has 2 Bs. What is B x (times) 2? 2 Bs. B 2 times. B2x.

What does "OOC" mean?
OOC stands for Out Of Character. OOC Out Of Character. If a member puts OOC before something it means that the member is saying it and not their character.

What does "*muse*" mean?
If you see *muse* at the bottom of a post it means the poster's creative juices aren't flowing very much or they had little to say. It happens to the best of us, just don't make it a habit.

What is PMing?
PM stands for Personal Message. It is like an email system already set into your account by joining the board. It is a great way to communicate Out Of Character (OOC) without having to make a thread or having everyone read it.

How do I check PMs?
At the top of the board you see our banner with Tim Burton that says "Be Burtonesque." Below that it will tell you what part of the board you are at in a white font with a black background. Below that is a gray line with these icons,

Below this image bar is a larger, lighter, gray bar. This bar says "Hey, (Your Username), you have # messages, # are new. " And then it tells you the current time. If the # is filled in with a number higher then 0 you have a message! Click where it says "#messages" and you will be taken to your inbox. Simply click on the message title of the message you wish to read!

How do I send a pm?
Simply click on the member who you want to PM. At the top of their profile there will an option saying "Send a Personal Message." Click that and type a subject and then your message like you were sending an email. All PMs are private.

Why do I have to delete my old PMs?
If you accumulate a certain amount of messages your inbox will be full. Without warning it will stop new messages from coming in. This may prevent you from getting messages from staff or other members. Click the check box next to the messages you wish to delete and click delete at the bottom. You inbox can hold a maximum of 25 - 50 messages.

What do the images in the light gray bar mean?
They all mean different things. Follow this small graph to understand what the buttons mean.

- This button will send you to the site main page.

- This button will send you to a proboards help site. It was not created by B2x and will not help you with our rules or site. If you need further assistance with our site it is best to ask a staff member. This button is not of use.

- This button will take you to an area that will allow you to search the site for certain words or phrases.

- This button will allow you to take a look at our current members.

- This button will let you view the B2x calendar. As of right now we don't really use it much so it's unnecessary.

- This button will take you to your profile. It will allow you to view and modify your profile. If you need help modifying your profile or need something done, PM an Admin and they will be pleased to help you.

- This button will log you off of the site. Once logged off you will not be able to do anything unless you log in again.

- This button will take you to the old B2x chatroom. This chat is no longer in use. You should not click this button unless you want to waste your time.

Where is the Available Characters List?
We don't have an Available characters list. There are so many characters to choose from that it would be impossible to create one that we could keep up with when members sign up. Someone might want to sign up as Zero from The Nightmare Before Christmas or The Burn Victim from Beetlejuice and no one ever thought of it so they think it's taken. Therefore, we have created a TAKEN CHARACTERS LIST. This list tells you the characters you can NOT have. This way we can keep our applications in order, provide examples for applications, and show what characters are not available all at the same time. That list is located here:

Where is the chat?
At the very bottom of any page of the website. It's black and white Burton striped.

What should I put as my name in the Chat?
Your username or your Character Name (If Approved) silly!

Why is no one replying in chat?
Try pressing refresh in the bottom right hand corner of the chat above the website area. If that doesn't work then maybe no one is online.

How can I limit a thread to one or two people?
Please refer to the rules!

What is the password for the Registration?
Please refer to the rules!

What is the password for the Members ONLY section??
Please refer to the rules! Once you achieve Dreamer status (3 stars) PM me for the password.

Why can't I have more then one signature?
Member of the Month and Benevolence winners get an award signature in their signature ON TOP of their original signatures. We do this to make them slightly different to show off their award and show everyone that they have one. If other members have double signatures it takes the effect away. Also it crowds up the site so we only allow 2 members a month to have double signatures and those members are the award winners listed at the top of the site.

What does Godmodding mean?
This means that you posses the actions of other members.

Example 1. WRONG WAY: Sally walked up to Edward and hugged him. Edward then said, "Aww" and told Sally he was very hungry. Sally handed Edward a cookie and he ate it in one bite.

Example 2. CORRECT WAY: Sally walked up to Edward and gave him a hug.

You must then wait for Edward to reply.

How do I post my application?
In the rules there is a password to gain access to the registration board. Once in, you will find a form that you must fill out in a new thread. Once excepted it will be sent to the taken character board and your name will be changed to your characters name and you will receive a PM from the staff member that has accepted your application.

I tried to sign in with my character name but it's not working.
You must sign in with the username you originally registered with.

How do I make a character?
Follow the info stated in the question "How do I post my application?"

What is a Warning Bar?
The warning bar lets Staff and other members know of rules that a member has broken or things the member is doing wrong even though Staff has tried to correct it. If you click your character name to go to your profile on the bottom it should give some reasons as to why you acquired a warning.

Does the Warning Bar go away?
It can if staff finds you a valuable member or if you bring new members here that say you brought them here and remain active. There are many ways to impress staff, you just have to look around.

Why do I have a Warning?
I don't know. What did you do!? Just kidding. Ask any Admin or Global Administrator and they should be able to check your account notes and inform you as to why you have a Warning and Who gave it to you.

Why was my account deleted?
There could be many reason for account deletions. The most common is inactivity. Generally if you remained inactive from posting for too long we have cleared out your account to give another member who will be active a chance to roleplay with your character since you weren't using it anyways. If that isn't the case, ask an Admin.

What is an Activity Check?
An activity check is an announcement posted by an Admin that asks the members to reply. If you do not reply you are either inactive, not reading important announcements, or simply cannot follow directions. Either way, your account will be deleted. Remember, you must reply with all your characters! You must reply to the activity check with the following application:

Nothing more. Nothing less.

What's the Karma thing in the user box all about?
I suppose they're our brownie points. You do a good RP, help someone, or do something great... other members can give you a karma point is the way we see it.

Example, let's say I'm reading one of your RP posts and I think 'Damn, that was good I think I'll give her karma'.

But a good RP-er isn't judged by how much karma he/she has. It doesn't really count for much. It just makes people feel all fuzzy when they get some and all pissy when they lose some.

Can I advertise my site here?
No. But if you would like we can advertise your site here. Simply put a link to our site on your site and give me your link. Then once I see our link on your site we will put your site in the affiliates board.

Why is my application still pending when everyone else's is being accepted?
Don't worry. If we deny you... we will deny you. We won't just let it sit there. We're organized like that. If you're application is still pending it's because I'm having some trouble with it and getting staff opinions on it. This means something isn't right either on your side or mine. Keep checking back to see any notes staff has left for you!

What is a custom title?
A custom title is basically another name for your character. It can be something your character is considered or a nick name. I am Betelgeuse. My custom title is The Ghost With The Most for example. Cry-baby's custom can be Wade Walker. Sally's could be Ragdoll. A custom title can be anything you want it to be.

Why does everyone hate me?
Because you fucking suck. No seriously. No one hates you. Perhaps you do not get our sense of humor. PM me or the person you think hates you and ask them like an adult. If you ask... they will respond.

I am reading through a great deal of the Roleplays (great stuff! and wow, a lot to read through), and I have noticed that several do not necessarily indicate either closed or open. Am I to assume that any RP that does not specifically say (Open) is closed to only certain characters?
If it doesn't specify, It's open.

How do I start a roleplay?
Generally with your character name. Seriously anywhere about almost anything. If you're wrong... we'll let you know. You can't learn if you don't try, aye?

Where should my characters plot end? What if my character dies in the end of a movie?
If you're having problems on where your characters stands or the knowledge you should have PM me, Betelgeuse, and I can help you. Odds are I've seen any movie that is allowed here and if not, well you got me. I'll help you out and if not I'll find someone who can.

Why is this site so addicting?

What does it mean when I have been chosen at a B2x Best Application? What is the thumb ups symbol mean on my application?
It means you had a great application and we want new members to look at your application to get an idea on how to fill out their's. Congratulations!

Do I have to read EVERY announcement and update?
If you want to live.

Seriously though, you don't HAVE to do anything. But I highly recommend it.

Can I report a glitch?
Please do. To any staff member!

I don't like a certain character or movie. Do I have to roleplay with them?
You don't HAVE to roleplay with anyone. But eventually you'll end up roleplaying with everyone so get use to it. The world is love and hate. Learn this early and how to deal with it.

I have my three characters but I'm afraid it's to much for me to handle. What can I do and will you be angry with me?
Simply PM me, Betelgeuse, and let me know your situation and which character you would like me to delete. I will delete the character and you are free of worries. And no I will not be mad. This being said you can not sign up for another character right away... that's tricky, but I'm in this biz and smarter then that.
